FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY HARRISON W.
Harrison has sent us some new pics of his build, making progress on his labor of love….
It’s Friday, so let the Merry making and Hoopla begin and to kick things off here at the RC HUB HUT, we are presenting Harrison’s build:
Here’s some comments from Harrison about his build:
The build started with my friend Sheldon Creed saying he wanted to build a custom trophy truck so I said,” lets do it”! We got a stainless steel chassis cut out using a water jet, utilizing a Slash 2wd front end and transmission, I used STRC parts to build the whole front end, while also using RPM wide front arms. The steering system came from a Slash, we used Proline steering posts. The top plate that the servo is mounted to is a custom piece also cut out by a water jet. Then moving further back, I have a Slash 2wd transmission with a Reedy 3500kv 4pole motor and 16/54 gearing and the transmission has a locker in the differential from Hot Racing. I am also using a rx8 speed controller and a Futaba 4pl controller and a Hitec 7955tg servo, the driveshaft I am using is a SSD steel. On the chassis there are 2 plates that unbolt that I will weld the cage too. I have Rc4wd links and bent link ends and I am currently waiting to get my Metal Concepts raw rear axle and trailing arms. The shocks I am using are Axial Icon shocks, the fronts are 90mm and the rears are 137mm, the wheels and tires are a custom set up, by using Axial method NV’s with the narrow hub and Proline bfg kr2 tires that I used a paint marker on both to get the full scale effect, the body is a Proline 2017 ford raptor speed energy replica, still more scale features to be purchased. The start of the cage should happen in the next few weeks! Thanks Harrison W.on Instagram
