FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY BRIAN PRATT
It sure is a Jim Dandy build!!!! And as the song goes,” get a little mud on the tires” also rings true….
Brian’s Build Comments:
Here’s a little info on the CJ. To start with it’s called “Jim Dandy”. This is what my grandfather put on all of his hobby projects. So I decided to name the CJ Jim Dandy 1. Now it all started with a Tamiya YJ body. Which I promptly cut the roof and doors off of. Next was the hood and tailgate. I needed all that gone to make room for the CJ conversion pieces from Giuseppe Musumeci over at rc-crawler.it that included the hood, grill, tailgate, dashboard, console and seats. All resin cast from handmade molds. I used an RC4WD SWB TF2 chassis for the base. I used RC4WD front and rear tube bumpers. Custom roll bar. I also added NCyota axles from BowHouse RC; they are a 3d printed housing that uses Vaterra Ascender’s internals. And you get Ascenders steering angles. Huge improvement over stock. I hit up Locked Up RC for some heritage bead locks, with full scale hardware and then wrapped them in 1.9 Pitbull pbx AT’s. It’s powered by a Tekin fxr/30 turn brushed combo. It has a Locked Up RC Commando Winch with Freespool. Controlled by an RC4WD Wireless controller. I added a full light kit and a functional steering wheel from Yeah Racing. Steering comes from a waterproof Savox servo. A Krawler Konceptz license plate.
