FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY CORY PETERSON
Cory’s build info:
This is my 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55. The body is made by Manitou Liu from MFab. It’s running a GCM CMax chassis, with a little extra added to the rear for length. Holmes Hobbies motor and ESC. Reefs steering servo. Spektrum radio and receiver. Body is 3d printed from PLA. Standard CA glue to attach pieces, lots, and lots, and even more sanding with 80 grit up to 400, then high build primer, sand some more, then several cans of Tamiya paint. Driver and Co-Pilot are Steve Carell and Paul Rudd from Anchor Man. I have a love for the Christmas story leg lamp, so there’s one in the back, along with a few lanterns. Subwoofer and amp, hiding a voltage gauge. The dogs are in honor of my mother’s old dogs. Rice bulbs instead of LEDs used throughout to try for the older feel. Engine bay is mostly Dion’s parts from MrCommaD. Fluid filled his washer/coolant containers, as well as his brake and clutch masters. RC4WD radiator cut a bit to fit over the steering servo, and some homemade random stuff to try and complete the bay. Fun truck. I try to keep it clean, so no real hooning around with it. The FJ62 will get more of that.
