FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY DAVID MILLER
David’s build info;
I received my Axial Racing 69’ Blazer and loved it right out of the box. The attention to detail was pretty awesome. I wasn’t able to do much to it as Axial Fest was coming up quickly and I needed to work on my two other rigs. Short story long, when I got back, I started looking online for inspiration on what to do with the rig. I really didn’t find much so my imagination took over. First thing I did was change the shock geometry in the rear along with swapping shocks from front to rear. It’s really easy to do and it’s free so there is that. Axial actually has a video on their blog about it. Next thing was the cage. I didn’t like the full cage so I chopped off from behind the driver and back. Next step was some scale items as well as a proper front bumper. WertyMade was kind enough to send me his new one made for the blazer and it is perfect. I cut some of the Lexan in front, rear, and wheel wells to allow more clearance all around. I installed a Reef’s RC triple 5, a Castle Mamba X/2850kv, Team Ottsix X4’s, and Vanquish OMF’s. I also picked up some locking hubs and other items by Scale By Chris. I installed GearHead rock lights, headlights, and a Onetoomany rc’s light bar. So far this is one of my favorite rigs and my only “scale” rig. I have 2 other comp crawlers that are scale, just not like this one. That’s about it!!
