FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY DON PERRY
Glad tidings on this fine fine Friday. We have Don’s completed tow truck to dazzle and delight you. Anyone need a “Recker”?
My tow truck project took much longer then I thought it would to complete, but I think it turned out good. It is built on the RC4WD Beast chassis which except for weak springs worked out pretty well. The cab is a Proline EMAXX, top kick body cut and modified to fit the chassis everything else is custom. It has three winches one on the front bumper and two used for the towing part of the truck, so as not to have to take the body off all the time to charge the batteries which there are three of, one for the electronics and main motor and one each for the tow winches (which can be operated by switches on truck or by transmitter). I used a very high current rated on/off switch in one of the side compartments in the back of the truck and charging port in another to charge batteries there are three ESC’s on board one for main motor and one for the two tow winches to give better control.
