FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY DWAYNE BRIGHT
So this Friday we are comin at you in a BIG way, so make way people, coming through with a big dog 1/14 style. His wife has a fan in us for choosing the à l’orange and we are definitely fans of Dwayne and his mad creative manufacturing, painting, wiring skillz.
Some comments from Dwayne on the build:
I built this custom 1/14 scale r/c semi-truck as with all of my others in my fleet of 1/14 scale tractor trailers. I like old school, so the spread axle cattle trailer body was built by my friend Jason Hammer and I added the suspension and the other details, the cab was 3d printed by Gem hobbies. I scratch built the rest of the truck and painted everything. From scratch I built the floor mount, exhaust stack bracket, dual old school air cleaners, aluminum catwalk, rear trailer bumper as well as the side panels and mud flaps and the spare tire rack as well as the aluminum storage boxes between the spread axles in the rear of the trailer and they are fully functional for storage space. This truck has the Tamiya mfu 01 (multi-function-unit) that gives it the lights and sounds and motor vibrations installed in it, but I had to lengthen all the wiring to make up for the stretched frame rails. My wife chose the paint colors and I created the paint scheme for the truck and trailer, as well as painting it. Custom plates by Krawler Konceptz. The truck is named “SledgeHammer” and it has the stock Tamiya 540 can motor with the stock 3 speed transmission. I used the Futaba 2.4 ghz 4wyd 4 channel radio the wheels are custom aluminum 10 hole Alcoa’s, like the real thing the reflective tape is real tape individually cut and installed by me.
