Easter has come and gone but our blood is still coursing with chocolate and sugar cubes. So our gnat like attention spans have turned to nano seconds, but luckily we are able to slow down enough to truly appreciate Jeffrey’s build and the care and techniques he has applied. Hooray for his mastery of chemistry and patience to make his build truly unique.

“Now for the painting of the body, I went with the good old salt chipping technique. For this to work, you need to prime the body first. I used Tamiya grey primer (applied two coats). Second, think about where the rust is gonna be and sprinkle a bit of water to that area. Next, sprinkle fine salt over the wet area (be generous with the salt). The next step is to apply the paint. I used Tamiya PS spray paint. Wait for about an hour before chipping the salt. It took me a couple of tries before I got what I wanted. To finish off this build, I applied dry brushing on some areas to make it more realistic.”
