FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY MIKE KARPF
Mike’s build info:
This is the Tamiya wild one buggy with Knight Customs 3d printed sand rail conversion. The builder is (Instagram name michaelplatypuss1) (real world name mike Karpf). Wheels are resin cast 1/8th scale model car wheels bolted onto vintage Pro-Line 2.0 wheels painted black. All electronics are hidden in the box behind the seats the battery is hidden under the seats. The metal roof, floor, and front servo cover were fabricated by me. Driver figure is a “slimmed down” Wild Willy driver with extended legs. I used a vintage rear anti sway bar by Parma. The buggy is ultra-lightweight and fairly delicate, so I never run a motor more powerful than a Tamiya 540 or a tiny 380 motor. All paint is Duplicolor brake caliper paint. The decals are vintage from the 1980s. This build took about 4 years to complete.
