FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY MOOSEJAW JOE
Moosejaw Joe’s build info;
When Axial came out with the 55′ F-100 RTR I knew I wanted to do a replica of the Sandford & Son build. I was hoping more of the actual 51 but I usually just make do and put things together with what I have or what I can make. This came accidentally though, as I was switching a different build from a flat LCG chassis to an Axial C chassis, I was not happy with that bodies stance on the C channel… so I bought the body parts of the Ford F-100. Luckily Funko Pop came out with the Fred Sanford and Lamont Sanford figures and I went for it. I usually like adding humor to the drivers and stay away from wrestlers. To get it low as possible I went with GMade stamp 1.9 wheels and Pro-Line BFG KM3’s class one. Maybe the tires are not age appropriate, but they are my go-to tire. I also reversed the inner springs in the Yeah Racing Dessert Lizards with leaving maybe 1/8 of shock travel. Electronics are a Holmes Sport 20t, Hobbywing 1080c ESC, and Savox waterproof servo. Exterior parts are Axial light buckets, scrap tree parts, hub caps made from ping pong balls and styrene here and there. Lastly, I have an abundant collection of scale stuff from local antique fairs or local craft store supplies. Love the way it turned out.
