Robby’s build info:
I found a random picture on the internet and thought “that would be a cool build”. I build tube chassis cars in tenth scale so I decided I was up to the challenge. The car is based off of a 2wd Traxxas Slash, but most everything was trashed except for front and rear sub-assemblies and the battery tray. As you know a Slash doesn’t have a separate battery tray so, off to the grinder to remove all material except for battery cradle. The tube frame was brazed with 3/16 brake line tubing and 1/8 solid rod. I also utilized fabrication tabs where needed. For a scale build you have to have scale seats right, Axial Wraith seats were used to fill the bill. Gotta have a wing to hold down the car at speed so an Integy drift car wing took care of downforce. It has a cool carbon fiber pattern and is adjustable. To get the stance just right, Vaterra V-100 shocks were used and are mounted on adjustable brackets. Wide stadium truck wheels and tires were used on all four corners to keep it planted wide offset gets the job done. And remember that battery tray? It’s still there and runs down the car center-line and keeps the CG down low.
