FAN FRIDAY FEATURED BUILD BY ZACH AUDET
Zach’s build info;
I’m 19 years old and this is my build that started life as an RTR RC4WD Trail Finder 2, its been repainted from RTR red to Krylon Bahama Sea Blue with a rust colored base coat to give it a weathered look. It has a full scratch-built aluminum interior, an opening hood with complete engine bay. My plans are to add a 22r engine from “The LED Wheel” and bolt that up to a GCM racing transmission. The engine bay was hand made by me out of 0.60″ styrene sheet using Starbond CA glues. The body weathering was done with an airbrush of faux rust, then adding some rust and soot from a Tamiya weathering kit and finishing it off with a black wash to bring out the details. The body also received some custom work by cutting the front fenders and removing the body mounted front bumper for a modified crawler look! The grill was meticulously cut out and to up the scale factor even more I added some see through grill mesh and a scale radiator behind that. Custom parts made by me are the back-window protector/headache rack, a rear mounted ESC plate with custom wiring, longer 22G steel front shock towers, front aluminum skid plate, front and rear mud flaps, hood antenna and an authentically crawl smashed exhaust pipe and muffler setup. So far the parts lists is as follows: RC4WD Yota 2 axles, RC4WD ARB diff covers, RC4WD Superlift Steering Rod and Scale Shocks, Pitbull Rock Beast 1.55″ tires, RC4WD stamped steel 1.55″ wheels in Black, RC4WD Warn 9.5cti winch, RC4WD wireless winch controller, RC4WD Mojave light kit. For electronics a Hobbywing 1060 ESC powers an Axial 27t motor. A Savox 1270tg Servo with an aluminum servo horn keep this rig heading exactly where I want it to go! All the power is generated by a Gens ace 2s 5000mah lipo battery and communication is all handled by my trusty Spektrum DX3R radio. So that’s my rig, I’ve spent countless hours on this truck and it’s my favorite to wheel for class 1 comps! I truly have a passion for this hobby, especially Scale building! and you can follow my builds, adventures, rigs. *Special thanks to all my supportive family, friends and supporters across social media for watching, liking and encouraging me in my builds, you guys all rock.
