TRACK DAYS………. FEATURING CHRIS VEE & STLRC DRIFT
Organization / Club name?
How do people locate your group?
Via Facebook and word of mouth.
Where does the Club meet regularly?
We used to do a lot of demos at car shows and have sessions at Sean and Ryan’s basement tracks, but we’ve recently partnered up with Pro Level RC which is now STL’s official home track. We slide every Friday night from 4pm – 10pm.
What was your first RC car?
Hard to recall, but probably an old New Bright brand truck when I was about 10 years old. I bashed this thing through piles of leaves and dirt mounds.
Oldest memory of RCing?
Watching my father drive his nitro powered boat around a lake when I was 8. I don’t personally recall but there was an old photo I remember seeing of him doing this.
Who/What drew you to the RC world?
It began with exposure to it from my father and close cousins. My father loved model building and nitro boat racing and my cousins owned all the cool niche Tyco stuff way back then.
What is your current favorite car to run/Is there a dream build or dream car to own?
My current favorite is the D-Like RER Hybrid. My dream build is actually something I’m working on now and it’s the RC-ART RX-12J Jager2.
What are your hopes for the Clubs future?
To build a strong and unified community around the hobby. Spread the fun and joy of doing it with friends and family. Meaningful relationships and camaraderie are the foundation of doing this I feel.
Does the Club have any official Affiliations or Sponsors?
Pro Level RC as our main affiliate. Big shout out to Drew Ellis of Pro Level RC for being very welcoming and just one of the coolest dudes I know in the industry. Other than that, no official relations yet.
Current favorite 1:1 car and what would be a dream 1:1 for you?
My current favorite would be an R34 GTR built by Mine’s and a dream 1:1 would have to be a Porsche 959.
